Cindy Martin

December 30, 2020

Cindy Martin, a beloved, lifelong resident of Comanche went to be with Jesus on Dec. 25, 2020, the day we celebrate his birthday. Cindy valiantly fought a long difficult battle with COVID. She passed in the ICU unit of Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City surrounded by a host of competent , compassionate and caring medical staff.

A funeral was held Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Martin and Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. Interment was at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Cindy was born Oct. 24, 1945. She was reared in the loving care of her parents, Walter and Bessie (Nunley) Silvey. She graduated from Comanche High School and married her high school sweetheart, Austin Martin, on March 12, 1966.

Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all she met. She loved being with her man. It didn’t matter what they were doing, they were doing it together. They were inseparable.

Cindy loved God’s handiwork in nature. She could sit for hours and watch the bird she loved to feed. She loved planting flowers and watching them grow as her mother had done before her. She also loved to spoil her furry friend, Pixie.

Cindy’s favorite thing to do was making crafts and playing games with her granddaughter Karigan.  The two spent hours in each other’s company.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, David Silvey, and a sister-in-law Dorenda Speed.

Survivors include her husband, Austin, of the home; three children: Shane Martin, Crystal Beach, Texas, Gina Hamovitz and husband Joe, Duncan, and Jennifer Bacon and husband Jeremy, Comanche; four grandchildren: Gage Martin and wife Megan, Mustang; Ali Givens and husband Jeremiah, Stillwater; Ethan Bacon and Karigan Bacon, of Comanche; one great-grandchild, Addison Martin; two brothers-in-law: Danny Martin and wife Anita, Duncan, and Dr Larry Martin and wife Lynda, Duncan; and several nieces and nephews; and countless dear friends.
