Maxine Rowena Daniels

Maxine Rowena Daniels, age 77, of Comanche peacefully passed away Thursday morning, Jan, 14, 2021 at Duncan Regional Hospital. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, with Bro. Dee Bowen officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.

Maxine was born Feb. 9, 1943 in Comanche, to James and Sadie (Lavey) Stroud.  She was a lifelong resident of this community.  After graduation from high school she married Billy Allen Holding, and later married Don Daniels. Maxine enjoyed going to the Simmons Center with her friends, traveling, listening to country music, and going to concerts. She was an outstanding cook. She also loved all cats and dogs.

Survivors include her son, Mickey Holding, of Meridian; a niece Donna Frye, Comanche; and great-nieces Lauren and Jake Merritt and daughter Leia; and Tarah and Clint Walker. Also, cousins Lavana Joe Burmeister, Ada; Imogene McArthur, Anters; and Kim Stroud; and numerous other cousins and friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her spouses, Billy Allen Holding and Don Daniels; her parents Jim and Sadie Stroud; and her siblings William Stroud and Ruthie Wampler.
