Steven Doyle Gilbert

My son, Steven Doyle Gilbert, was born to Doyle and Barbara Gilbert in Fort Worth, Texas on July 8, 1978. He joined his father in Heaven on January 15, 2021. Doyle had just gotten there on November 20, 2020.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 23, at 1:00 P.M. in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dee Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery near Comanche. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Steven was a special kid in more ways than one. He loved all people. He was kind and considerate. His favorite thing to say to me was "I love you, Mom, and do you want your hug?" He probably said it 10 times a day.

Steven graduated from Paradise High School in Paradise, Texas. His life was full of trials, both health-wise and in everyday life. He loved the privacy of his own home.

When we moved to Oklahoma in 2004, it changed a lot of things for him. He went to work at the Power Shop doing all different jobs. His last job was at Halliburton that he was the proudest of. He loved his job, coaches, and friends and looked forward to going to work each day.

Steven had 3 sisters, Susie, Angie and Minky, and 1 brother, James, who were all older. He was an uncle to 9 and a great uncle to 6.

Steven's favorite thing to do when everyone got together was play board games and cards. He also loved video games and movies.

As his Mom, I can say: And yet will I praise God and thank him for the years I had to love Steven and be loved by him.
