Billie Joe Dennis

Billie Jo Dennis, a lifelong resident of Comanche passed away Monday morning , Jan. 25, 2021 in Duncan, OK. A funeral service will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Comanche First Baptist Church, with Bro. Randy Southerland officiating, assisted by Dr. Mark Hall. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Wednesday 12:00-4:00 and Thursday 9:00-4:00.

Billie was born March 11, 1929 in Comanche, to Joe and Myrtle Burk. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church since 1940, and a member of the Comanche Garden Club since 1952. She and Robert L. (Bob) Dennis were united in marriage in Wichita Falls on August 18, 1950. They were married for 55 years at the time of his death. She was employed at Security National Bank in Duncan, she also owned the Comanche Tag Agency for 13 years, and she worked in the Dennis Insurance Agency office for over 20 years. She was also the owner of Steve’s Loans in Comanche. Billie was an avid sports fan for both the Comanche Indians, where she cheered on her children and grandchildren; and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Survivors include her three children: Cassa Jean Good and husband Ron, Edmond, OK, Luther David Dennis III and wife Becky, Clearwater, FL; and Steve Dennis and wife Rebecca, Comanche, OK; her grandchildren: Matt Dennis, Cody McCauley, Jay Lynn McCormick, Tim Good and wife Desiree, Lisa Gannon, Dillon Dennis and wife Kristen, Dalton Dennis, Dryden Dennis and wife Elle, Dabney Dennis, and Daxon Dennis. Her great-grandchildren: Claire McCormick, Riley Good, Koch Good, Cole Good, Adam Gannon, Ryan Gannon, Katelyn Gannon, Ashton Gannon, Paisley Dennis, and Emmy Kate Dennis.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband Bob Dennis, her parents Joe and Myrtle Burk, and a granddaughter, Riley Day Dennis.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Henderson, John Powers, Shane Apple, and Greg Kimball. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great-granddaugher: Matt Dennis, Cody McCauley, Jay Lynn McCormick, Dillon Russ Dennis, Dalton Reed Dennis, Dryden Ross Dennis, Dabney Rose Dennis, Daxon Rex Dennis, and Claire Riley McCormick.
