Dwight Sanders

Graveside Services in the Walters Cemetery on Friday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Dwight Keith Sanders was born November 17, 1959 in Walters, Ok to Roger “Dale” Sanders and Lawana (Powell) Sanders. He passed away peacefully at his cousin’s home in Comanche, Ok on January 16, 2022 after an extended illness.

Dwight attended grade school at Walters and graduated from Empire High School in 1978. He worked in various types of construction all his life and he loved being outdoors, especially fishing on Beaver Creek with his friends. He enjoyed watching westerns, OU Sooners football and the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dale Sanders & Lawana Sanders Taylor; grandparents, Wayne and Opal Sanders; and stepfather Bobby Taylor.

Survivors include sons, Brandon Sanders of Dimondale, MI, and Colt Sanders of Sterling; sisters Darla Sanders of Walters, Robyn Medlin and husband Kevin of Alvord, TX; a brother Brent Taylor of Walters; nephews Dylan Sanders and wife Kressie of Walters, Colby Medlin and wife Roxann of Alvord, TX, Carsen Medlin of Ft. Worth, TX; special cousins Susie Hughes of Comanche and Tim Bates of Conroe, TX; along with special friends Clyde Bullard and wife Cristie of Comanche.
