Grace was born Saturday, January 21, 1929 in Big Flat, AR, to James and Maybell (Wallace) Lawrence. She married Delford Ford on September 20, 1947. From this marriage, 5 children were born: Anthony, Michael, Linda, Brenda, and Wanda. During this time she worked at a bakery and at Bobby Brooks Clothing Factory. On January 29, 1969 she married Joe Woodson and moved to Marlow to Pastor at Gospel Tabernacle Church. Several years later they built and pastored the Full Gospel Church. She also worked at Food Town grocery store as the frozen food manager and C-Lines, and at Hardee's as a biscuit maker. Grace also managed the Marlow Motel for several years until it closed down. Her favorite and last job she had was at Wal-Mart, where she worked as a door greeter for 9 years. She made many, many new friends as they came to shop. Grace loved working in her flower beds and her garden. She enjoyed playing games with her family and friends, especially SKIP-BO. Her family referred to her as the SKIP-BO queen because Grace always seemed to win. Music played a big part in her life and her family. No family get together was complete without a sing-along. She sang in a trio with her daughters, Linda and Brenda when they were teenagers traveling to area revivals to sing. While she pastored in Marlow she sang in a couple of trios with her husband Joe and daughter Wanda, and another with Joyce Williams McLeof and daughter Wanda. One of her very favorite things to do was watch Gaither Homecoming videos. Most importantly she loved her family, God, and witnessing to people. She was a member at Gospel Beams Church for over 40 years, but was a current new member of Comanche First Baptist Church. Grace will be missed by many.
