Mildred Irene McCord

Mildred Irene McCord, age 87, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2022, with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 28th at Ray Of Hope Church. Interment followed at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Mildred was born July 26, 1934 in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Pauline (Dunlap) Hendrix. She and Kenneth McCord were united in marriage on September 26, 1950 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were married for 71 years. Mildred was a nurse at Duncan Regional Hospital for over 40 years. She loved to read, go shopping, traveling, cooking, and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; three daughters: Peggy Sorrell and husband David, Comanche, Janice Pewitt, Comanche, and Jackie McCord, Comanche; seven grandchildren: Kenny Roden and wife Wendy, Heath Roden and wife Karen, Aimee Mears and husband Ronnie, Anna Hudson and husband James, Crystal Sorrell, Cody Sorrell and wife Autumn, and Carli Bandy and husband Shea; nine great-grandchildren: Ranzi, Makenzie, Kaden, Lauren, Emily, Kylie, Jace, Mia, Zach, Henry, Gita, and Tyler; and three great-great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Amara, and Archer. Also, many other relatives and dear friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Paulne Hendrix; and one aunt, Betty Sigler.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
