Bark in the Park this Saturday

Saturday, Oct. 1, will be the 17th Annual Bark in the Park (BIP), a pet and family friendly festival at Fuqua Park, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Patti Whitaker BIP Chairman says “There will be pet contests: Best Costume, Best Ears, Best Trick, and Owner Look-a Like. Between contests there will be Wiener Bobbing. We are not leaving out the cats. At Kitty Korner, there will be a booth to vote ($1) for the cutest cat photo.”

Their will also be a weenie dog race for the Dachshunds. All contest have prizes.

Additional highlights will be food trucks, raffles and pet-related vendors.

The annual 2022 BIP t-shirts and caps will be for sale at the T-shirt booth. The fourth annual Wag Walk will kick off the event. This starts at 9:30 am at Fuqua Park, $25 sign up and participants will receive a BIP T-shirt. There will be a one mile fun walk for the animals.

“Bark in the Park is not only a day packed with fun, it is also a much needed fundraiser for the shelter animals,” Whitaker said. “As our largest fundraiser, BIP provides the financial foundation for our day to day operations.”
