Comanche wrestlers take first place at Chickasha tourney
The Comanche wrestling team brought home first-place honors from the Chickasha Wrestling Tournament held last weekend.
The Indians won the tournament with 206 points, 15.5 points ahead of second place Duncan. Lawton MacArthur was third with 188.5 points.
Eight Comanche wrestlers placed, led by Kooper Doucet and Cade White, who both won their weight divisions. Also placing were Noah Presgrove and Erik Roy in second place in their weight classes, Kasen VanBuskirk and Jack Newton placed in fourth place, Logan Bain finished fifth and Gage Jessen finished sixth.
In girls competition, freshman Brook West won her weight class. The previous week she won the junior high tournament at Chickasha. Freshmen can compete at both the junior high and high school levels.
