Cora Sue (Woodrome) Roden
Cora Sue (Woodrome) Roden, age 77, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Jan. 26, 2023 at Duncan Regional Hospital. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mike Bates officiating. Interment followed at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Cora was born Aug. 30, 1945 in Lookeba to George and Vilda (Foust) Woodrome. She attended school in Duncan. On Nov. 27, 1964 she and Paul Roden were united in marriage in Duncan. Cora was an excellent seamstress, she loved going camping, playing cards, traveling, (she loved Colorado and Hawaii were among were favorite destinations). More than anything she loved her family, including her fur baby, “Mickey”, who was a huge part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Paul, of the home; two daughters: Brenda Fore, Comanche, and Cheryl Johnson and husband Marvin, Comanche; one brother, Royce Woodrome, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren: Cody McAdoo and wife Ana, Allen, Texas; Natasha Fields and husband Willie, Comanche; Jason McAdoo, Comanche, Jeremy McAdoo, Comanche, and Samantha Bohot, Comanche; also six great-grandchildren: Bralynn, Breanna, Katy, Cailye, Cash, and William.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers are Sam Reynolds, Josh Bohot, Jason McAdoo, Jeremy McAdoo, Marvin Johnson, and Bralynn Fields. Honorary bearers are Cody McAdoo and “Mickey” Roden.
