Senior center sees changes

February 09, 2023

The Comanche Nutrition Center has been through some rough times lately but things are looking up as some changes are being made, including some special events coming up and that the community is welcome to attend.

This will include a drawing each Friday during February for a prize. Visit the Nutrition Center at least one day each week to enter the drawing.

The Nutrition Center also has a new cook, Wanda Olds. Wanda is an experienced cook and says she is enjoying all the compliments on her delicious food.

The meals cost $5 each day, or about $110 dollars a month. However, those who prefer to prepay can save money, one month of prepaid meals is $80 dollars. Stop by City Hall or the Nutrition Center to pay for yourself or a loved one. There is no problem if a day is missed. Diners will receive credit for that day on the following month. Delivery service is also available. Anyone can come for the noon meal, it is open to everyone. High school students are welcome.

Upcoming Events:

On Valentine Day, Nutrition Center visitors will crown a king and queen, and enjoy a dance. Special guests will be Tom and Linda Prisoc who have been ballroom dancing for 25 years. They have previously taught ballroom dancing at Tarrant County Community College in Fort Worth, Texas. Those that love to dance are invited to come on out and join them to dance the afternoon away.

Lunch is served at 11:45 a.m. Call 439-5076 for more information. Diners do not have to call in advance but it helps staff prepare and is appreciated.
