Tommy Joe Gordon

Tommy Joe Gordon, age 74, a lifelong resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 in Seminole, OK. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery Pavilion, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, March 13th from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Comanche Funeral Home.

Tommy was born January 25, 1949 in Duncan, OK to Arthur and Mary (Williams) Gordon. He graduated from Comanche High School. Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam. In 1970 he married Linda Jackson. She preceded him in death in 1997. Tommy was a bricklayer, and a member of the Bricklayers Union. He loved woodworking, western swing dance festivals, camping, listening to country music, watching football and baseball (he was a big fan of the OU Sooners, Atlanta Braves, and Kansas City Chiefs). He was a member of the Duncan Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his son, Kenny Gordon and wife Stacy, Harrison, TN; a granddaughter, Raelee Gordon, Harrison, TN; two brothers: James Gordon and wife Brenda; and Jackie “Butch” Gordon and wife Pam; three sisters: Joyce Frontcakes, Elijah, Georgia; Linda Kay Allen and husband Bill, Duncan, OK; and Brenda Potts and husband Roy, Seminole, OK; a brother in law, Al Bowen, Wynnewood, OK; and a sister in law, Birdia Gordon, Comanche, OK; a special niece, Lisa Rachel, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents, Arthur and Mary Gordon; three brothers: Benny Gordon, Arthur Junior Gordon, Bobby Dale Gordon; and one sister in law, Rosemary Bowen.

Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Gordon, Casey Gordon, Andy Gordon, Kelly Bowen, Erick Rachel, and Roy Potts.
