Comanche closes in on end of regular season

It was another busy week for Comanche baseball as the Indians played five games over the course of a week. Comanche won two of the five games, including going 1-1 in district games.

April 11

Community Christian 10

The Indians picked up a big win over the Royals to earn a split with Community Christian.

Comanche broke a 10-all tie in the top of the seventh with three runs and then kept the home team scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to get the win.

The Indians had held a 10-5 lead through 5 ½ innings, but the Royals scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game. Comanche responded, however, in the top of the seventh when Ian Essex, Gabe Diaz and Kooper Doucet each picked up an RBI.

Essex led the Indians at the plate by going 4-for-5 with 5 RBI. Gunner King was 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and Landon Steele was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Doucet, Brady Dobbins, Colby Shannon and Clayton Brantner each had a hit.

Comanche 2

Comanche picked up a run each in the first and second innings, but could not muster another run as they fell on the road.

Plainveiw scored three runs in the bottom of the third to break a 2-2 tie and then added another insurance run in the fifth for the win.

Colby Shannon and Gunner King each had a pair of hits to lead Comanche at the plate. Ian Essex, Gabe Diaz, Landon Steeele and Brady Dobbins each had a hit.

A big second inning by the Indians provided the home team all they would need as they took the game by run rule.

The Indians had taken a 2-0 lead in the first before exploding for eight runs in the second to take a commanding 10-0 lead.

After giving up three runs in the top of the third, Comanche put the game away with five runs in the bottom half of the inning to get the win.

Brady Dobbins picked up a home run in the game as part of the five-run third to put the game away.

Ian Essex was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. Clayton Brantner went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Kanon Clift went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Comanche 0

The Warriors scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and then added eight more in the second to jump out to a big lead.

The Indians had three hits with Colby Shannon going 2-for-2 and Clayton Brantner going 1-for-2.
