fter the war, his family returned to Oklahoma where he attended high school in Comanche. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his stint in the Army, he began a career in the construction industry. This work led to a passion for acoustical ceilings which allowed him to build a lifelong career in the business.

Jim traveled extensively for work throughout the Midwest and mountain states and in 1987, moved his family to California where he began his own business. His dedication to work and providing for his family was apparent to all who knew him. The friendships he developed through his communities of church and work lasted throughout his life. Jim enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

As a young man, he married Janice (Gennette) in 1967, and their marriage produced three children: Jodi, Jason, and Jarrett. In 1975, he met and married Brenda (Andersen Good), who had two daughters, Melissa and Melanie. Together, Jim and Brenda had a daughter, Stacie.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two of his brothers, Paul and Jerry, a sister, Sherry, and his grandson, Spencer Booth. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Gordon, and their shared six children, 18 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Jodi Booth Ediger, her children Dustyn Ediger and Holly Ediger Sarchet (Brett) and their two children, Graylee and Olivia; Melissa Palm (Matthew) and their children David, Jamey, and Jason; Jason Gordon (Christi) and their children Courtney and Jett; Melanie Veteto (Tony) and their children Hazel and Theodore; Jarrett Gordon (Eileen) and their children Riley, James, Kelly, Emily, and Tessa; and Stacie Seltmann (Kevin) and their children Jackson, Alexander, Audrey, and Sam. Jim’s generosity, fun-loving nature, and gentle spirit were hallmarks of his life. He loved deeply, was loved deeply in return, and will be greatly missed.
