Bennie Ray "Red" Davidson
Bennie Ray Davidson, or “B.R.” or “Red”, was born Sept. 7, 1925 near Comanche, to Ben and Audie Bell (Glenn) Davidson. He peacefully passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 11, 2023 at his home in Lawton, at the age of 97. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home, with Bro. Randy Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Red proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He and Nancy Rice were united in marriage on Aug. 12, 1950 in Lawton. The lived in Mead for many years, and relocated to Lawton in 2021. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing. He and Nancy had two dogs, Smokey and Buffy, which were their constant companions.
Red is survived by his siblings: Royce Davidson, Ray Gene Williams, John Williams, and Winnie Biffle. Also, a sister-in-law, Lucille Davidson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nancy; and his siblings A.B, Davidson, Buster Davidson, Doris Davis, and Ellena Rice.
