Alma Louise Burt

Alma Louise Burt, a lifelong resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2023 in Edmond. She was 79 years old. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at the pavilion at Fairlawn Cemetery, with Bro. Kelly Pollock officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Monday evening, Sept. 25 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Louise was born Nov. 28, 1943 in Comanche, to Edgar and Lula Mae “Taylor” Riggle. She was a 1961 graduate of Comanche High School. She and Charles Burt were united in marriage on June 15, 1963 in Duncan. Louise loved landscaping her yard and working in her flower gardens. She was well known for making the very best coconut pies in the world. She and Charles were active members of Patterson Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Charles, of the home; one son, Rodney Burt and wife Scarlett, Edmond; a granddaughter, Taylor Wilkinson and husband Connor, Edmond; three great- grandchildren: Cannon Tate, Cole Reed, and Collins Louise;  two sisters, Shirley Jones, Duncan; and Bobbi Gray, Duncan; a brother, Edgar Riggle Jr and wife Kay, Comanche;  several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
