Charis Center is presenting its 8th annual Comedy and Coffee on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Simmons Center in Duncan.

This event is a fun, clean comedy show, and tickets include hot and cold coffee by Viridian and an array of special cakes by Special Days Cake Boutique. Charis Center is excited to bring Jaron Myers in for this year’s event.

Jaron Myers is a standup comedian from Kansas City, Mo. He has built an online fan base of over one million followers, and his videos boast over 250 million views across the internet.

Myers has two comedy specials on Amazon Prime, and his antics have been featured by Buzzfeed, Newsweek, College Humor, Relevant Magazine, and many more.

Myers tours all over the country performing at colleges, comedy clubs, and churches.

Charis Center offers pregnancy-related services to women and families in Stephens County by providing pregnancy testing, options consulting, ultrasound, Prenatal and Parenting Classes, and baby supplies. All services are provided at no charge.

This is the main fundraiser for the organization, and Charis Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Kimberla Treat, executive director, said they are “completely funded by local donors. This event is vital to making sure we meet our budget, and are able to remain open to provide a safe place to help moms and dads, and provide supplies for their babies”.

“In light of all the sadness in the world right now, we all need a night of laughter and the joy of knowing we are helping moms and precious babies…and who can turn down coffee and cake?”

Tickets can be purchased ahead for $30 (two for $50) at Charis Center or the Simmons Center, online at Eventbrite, or at the door for $40. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for coffee, dessert, photo booth, and live entertainment. Show starts promptly at 7:15 pm..
