Ronnie Joe Sloan
Ronnie Joe Sloan, born March 27, 1952, in Danville, Arkansas, passed away on June 18, 2024, at his home in Comanche. He was the third son of Naomi Virginia Adams and
William Gibbs Sloan, and grew up alongside six siblings on Mount Magazine in Blue Mountain, Ark.
Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Lisa Privett (Curtis) of Ratcliff, Ark.; Paula Jo Koch (Joseph) of Blanchard; Bobbye Jayne Sloan of Norman; and
Ronnie Joe Sloan, Jr. (Sara) of Marlow; Niece Jaime Marie Allen of Comanche; and his six grandchildren: CJ, Trystan, Trevor, Sandy, Liam, and Ember; great-niece and
nephew Aubree and Lathan.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; W.G., Donald, and John, and his sister Maxine, all of Arkansas. His Mother and Father-in-Law; Bobbye Milum Springer
Kelley and John Paul Springer, and Sister-in-Law Margaret Marie Springer of Comanche.
Ronnie lived his life with unwavering charisma and an infectious sense of humor. Ronnie had a brave and compassionate heart. He stood up for those who could not stand up for
themselves and always offered a helping hand to those in need. His generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Ronnie Joe Sloan lived a life
dedicated to providing for his family, often sacrificing his own health and well-being to ensure their happiness and success. His resilience and determination were unwavering, a
testament to his strength of character and love for his family.
Ronnie was a jack of all trades, primarily working in construction and the trucking industry. His career in trucking allowed him to share countless adventures with his
family across the country, instilling in them a love for travel. He enjoyed many hobbies and loved tinkering in his workshop. He honed his woodworking skills, creating pieces of
furniture for his kids. Among his most memorable creations was the porch swing at the family's home on Hill Street in Comanche, where countless memories were made, and
stories shared. Ronnie was a self-taught guitar player and had a mischievous side and enjoyed composing playful songs to poke fun at those he loved most, turning everyday
moments into cherished memories filled with laughter and joy.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit forever remembered in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. Rest in peace,
Rootin-Tootin Ronnie Sloan. We hope you found your shade tree in the sky.
A memorial service to celebrate Ronnie's life will be held at Freedom Biker Church, 308 W. Walnut Ave in Duncan, Oklahoma on July 20 at 11 a.m. His final resting place will be at
Blue Mountain Lake in Arkansas.
