Mack E. McClennen

Mack E. McClennen, a lifelong resident of Stephens County, passed away at his home, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 85. A funeral service will be held at Fair Baptist Church, on Thursday, June 27 at 1 p.m., with Bro. Dee Bowen officiating. The burial will take place prior to the service, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.  Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Mack and his identical twin, Jack were born Feb. 22, 1939 in Corum, to Earl Elton and Murry (Bounds) McClennen. He attended school at Oak College, and later graduated from Empire High School in 1957. He and Kathy  Williams were married on February 14, 1987 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  Mack was a cowboy, who loved all things involving horses; and he also loved fishing, and storytelling.

Survivors include his daughters Faryl Farmer, Duncan, Fonda Cheatwood and husband Bill, Empire, and Shanon Cruz and husband David, Whittier, Calif.; his step-daughters Penny Hilbrich, Linde Smtih, and Cindy Schneburger; two brothers: Ronald McClennen and wife Rosalee, Comanche, and Dan McClennan and wife Cheryl, El Paso, Texas; one sister, Julie Bacon and husband James, Comanche; a sister-in-law, Joyce McClennen; 10 grandchildren: Austin Green, Sunny Green, Ryan Dymond, Blake Cheatwood, Kelby McClellan, Gabby Cruz, Nicole Cruz, Keith Schneberger, Curtis Schneberger, and Karen Roles;  ten great grandchildren, and his best friends, Ollie Rainey and Billy Wright; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife,Kathy; his twin brother, Jack McClennen, a granddaughter, Rachel Rothner;  his first wife, Almeda Dehart; and very good friend, Skeet Chapman.
