Party at Comanche Lake on July 6

e inaugural Comanche Chamber of Commerce Independence Fest at Comanche Lake this Saturday.

Several events and booths will be featured at lake for the whole family between 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A fireworks display will be held at dusk.

Chamber president Laura Lewis is proud of the community for stepping up to make a fireworks show and July 4th celebration possible.

“It’s the community who did this,” said Lewis. “This is what makes it so great, it is all the involvement of the community instead of relying on a single source to do it.”

And with it being the first one, Lewis is expecting some possible hiccups along the way.

“We’ll fall forward and do better next year,” Lewis said.

The Comanche Masons will be in charge of parking for the event and attendees are encouraged to park in the designated places only.

Bingo and other games will be available.
