Janet Sue Rolland

Janet Sue Rolland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2024. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Harry Terry, and a loving family that includes her brother Robert and his wife Debbie Lindsey, Paul and his wife Pat Lindsey, and her daughters Lori Richardson and Dawn Rutzer and her husband Ray Rutzer. Her legacy is carried on by her cherished grandchildren, Kelsey Anderson, Tanner Rutzer, Tyler Rutzer, Taylor Rutzer, Callie Richardson, and Lindsey Richardson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Keaton Anderson, Sutton Casebolt, and Colston Ross. Janet held a special place in her heart for all her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were like family.

Born on Dec. 12, 1952, in Carlsbad, N.M. Janet moved to Comanche shortly after her birth. She graduated from Comanche High School in 1970.

Soon after, she married Steve Rolland and embarked on many adventures as they traveled during his Navy service. Janet dedicated 22 years of her professional life to the insurance field at Liberty Mutual, where she was known for her dedication, hard work, and positive quote of the day. She followed that up with work at Farmers.

She and Harry found each other, and they enjoyed traveling as well as watching any genre of movie together. She was his co-pilot. Janet will be fondly remembered for her loving spirit, joyful nature, and the beauty she brought into the lives of everyone she touched. Her warmth and kindness will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held July 19 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Asbury Center in Comanche. Flowers for celebration can be sent to 2323 Dixon Road, Choctaw, OK 73020 prior to July 19. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either of these causes that were important to her, an autism or breast cancer charity of your choice. These causes meant a lot to Janet.
