Lady Indians take district losses

The Comanche softball team will try to overcome a rough few days last week as they try to rebound this week.
The young Lady Indians went 0-4 in games played Sept. 3-9.
Comanche will travel to Lone Grove today (Thursday) and Kingston on Monday for the final two district games. The Lady Indians will finish fourth in Class 3A-District 1 regardless of the outcomes.

A big sixth inning by the Lady Redskins proved to be the difference as they scored eight of their nine runs in the inning to overcome 4-1 deficit to get the win.
The Lady Indians fought back to pick up a run each in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings, but it would not be enough as Kingston picked up the district win.
Comanche got home runs from Jaylee Roebuck and McKenzie Graham in the game.
Roebuck’s bomb came on a line drive to right field in the first inning that gave the Lady Indians an early 1-0 lead. Graham led off the bottom of the sixth with her home run that cut the Kingston lead to 9-5.
Errors were costly for Comanche as Kingston only had three earned runs.
Raelee Ellis and Roebuck each had three hits to lead Comanche with Roebuck picking up a pair of RBI. Ellis had a double in the game. Jentry Whaley went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Caity Ramsey, Graham, Cloey Kinkade and Katelynn Cole each had one hit.
Jentry Whaley took the loss on the mound. She pitched 5.1 innings and gave up one earned run on four hits. She struck out two and walked two.

Comanche 6
Waukomis broke a 5-all tie in the top of the fourth with four runs to push them to the win over the Lady Indians.
Comanche had seven hits in the game, led by McKenzie Graham with two. Jentry Whaley, Jaylee Roebuck, Cianna O’Connor, Cloey Kinkade and Caity Ramsey each had one. Roebuck drove in two runs in the contest and Graham had a double.
Whaley took the loss on the mound, giving up four hits and three earned runs in two innings of work. She struck out two and walked three.

The host team jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first two innings and then held off a Comanche rally to get the win.
The Lady Indians scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the third inning. 
Jentry Whaley and McKenzie Graham doubled in the game. Raelee Ellis, Jaylee Roebuck and Caity Ramsey all had hits in the game with Ellis, Cassidy Smith, Roebuck and Whaley each driving in a run.
Graham was the losing pitcher, giving up three earned runs in a third of an innning on two hits.

After going extra innings a couple of weeks ago with plenty of back-and-forth, Davis jumped out early and stayed ahead in the district contest in Davis.
The Lady Wolves put up two runs each in the second and third innings before exploding for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 13-0 lead.
Comanche tried to fight back, scoring three runs in the top of the fifth, but it would not be enough as the game was run-ruled.
The Lady Indians had four hits in the game with Jaylee Roebuck, Raelee Ellis, Jentry Whaley and Cassidy Smith each collecting a hit. Roebuck and Lexi Felder each had an RBI.
Jentry Whaley was the losing pitcher, giving up six hits and four earned runs in three innings of work. She struck out three and walked one.
