Cross country finds success at Walters

The Comanche cross country teams found success at a meet in Walters last Tuesday.

The junior high girls finished second, the junior high boys finished third and the high school boys placed second. Brilee Combs finished in second place overall in the high school girls competition.
"I was proud of all of our runners, junior high and high school," said Jason Miller, head coach. "Each of the four teams had good showings. Our team handled running in heat and we came home with a healthy group. We had awesome junior high finishes with Haley Ramsey, Ellie Schriener and Taylor Frye medaling for the girls. Ridge Hall, Hutner Roebuck and Brody Combs did for the boys."

In high school girls, Brilee Combs put in a time of 14:03 to finish second individually. In her first two meets this season, Combs has a first and a second place finish.

High school boys
Aiden Frye paced the Indians with a third place finish and a time of 20:53.
Frye was one of five Comanche runners to finish in the top 20. Makisig Rogers joined Frye in the top 10 with a seventh place finish with a time of 21:30. He was followed by Gage Jessen in 14th (22:23), Matthew Hunt in 16th (22:36), Christian Parris, in 17th (22:38), Hayden Harget in 27th (26:03) and Kasyn Doss in 35th (28:47).

Junior high girls
Comanche had 12 runners in the contest with three finishing in the top 10.
Hailey Ramsey finished in third with a time of 7:08, Ellie Schreiner took sixth with a time of 7:29 and Taylor Frye finished 10th with a time of 7:33.
They were followed by Kaylee Stengel in 32nd (8:40), Dawn Rightmire in 35th (8:54), Kendra Billy in 50th (9:30), Hope Carrio in 53rd (9:35), Emma Wendt in 57th (9:48), Ellie Englishbee in 58th (9:53), Elizabeth Jackson in 73rd (10:40), Zoe Payes in 74th (10:43) and Cayley Baldwin in 75th (10:45).
Junior high boys
Ridge Hall finished fifth and Hunter Roebuck took seventh to lead the Jr. Indians. Hall had a time of 14:03 and Roebuck finished with a time of 14:15.
Brody Combs finished just outside the top 10 with an 11th place finish with a time of 14:46. He was followed by Ayden Jones in 31st (17:45), Brayden Brown in 33rd (17:55), Ira Moffitt in 44th (20:30) and Flynn Wright in 50th (21:39).
