Cross country fares well at meet

The Comanche cross country teams ran at Velma-Alma last Tuesday with several runners bringing home medals.
In high school girls, Brilee Combs recorded another top five finish for the Lady Indians, covering the course in 12:57.49 for a fifth place finish.
In boys high school competition, the Indians placed third as a team and were paced by Aiden Frye with a 12th place finish with a time of 19:12.63 over the 5k course. He led three Comanche runners with top 20 finishes, being joined by Makisig Rogers in 14th place and Gage Jessen in 17th.
Christian Parris was next for the Indians in 40th place and he was followed by Matthew Hunt in 52nd to round out Comanche scorers. Hayden Harget finished 54th and Kasyn Doss finished 68th.
In junior high girls, Comanche took seventh place as a team. Hallie Ramsey led Comanche with a seventh place overall finish with a time of 10:34.68. She was followed by Taylor Frye in 20th, Ellie Schreiner in 43rd, Gabriella White in 45th, Kaylee Stengel in 65th, Hayliee Roy in 76th and Kendra Billy in 94th.
In the junior high boys meet, Comanche finished eighth as a team. They were led by Ridge Hall in 19th place with a time of 14:26.07.
Hunter Roebuck narrowly missed the top 20 with a 21st place finish. They were followed by Ayden Jones in 46th, Kaiden Davoult in 52nd, Bryson Vansickle in 76th and Ira Moffitt in 88th.
The high school teams were scheduled to race Tuesday at the pre-regional meet in Waurika in Class 2A competition.
