City enters inter-local agreement with county
November 07, 2024
The City of Comanche voted to enter into an inter-local cooperation agreement with Stephens County at a special meeting on Oct. 24.
The agreement authorizes mutual aid for providing police and other emergency services within and around the city.
The agreement will provide 24-hour, seven-days-a-week dispatching services to aid police and emergency services.
The city agreed to pay the county a one-time equipment fee of $3,666 for the purchase of additional radio dispatch equipment. They will also pay a $750 monthly payment for the services.
The agreement states that county calls will take precedence over city calls when they coincide.
The vote passed with Mayor Smokey Dobbins as the only “no” vote.
The next monthly meeting for the city council is Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall..
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
