Mud Creek Creations turns 10
November 14, 2024
Mud Creek Creations opened its doors in 2014 at 211 Oak Main. After 10 months at this location, Bob and Janet Coffer purchased the old Doug Strange Furniture building.
Bob quickly went to work renovating and saving one of the historic buildings in Comanche. This became Mud Creek Creations’ current home. Soon vendors were added and Mud Creek Creations became a favorite shopping destination for Stephens County and many travelers passing through town.
The Coffers retired and Jeanne McGowen took over the store with the help of Reba Beck, Rhonda Miller and Lynnel Boyles.
“It took four of us to replace Bob and Janet,” McGowen said.
Mud Creek Creations just celebrated 10 years of business this month and are proud members of the Comanche Area Chamber of Commerce.
The retail store has 21 vendors selling all kinds of items, including clothing, decor, antiques, florals, collectibles, furniture, glassware and one of the more popular attractions, the Amish and private label specialty foods.
There is more than 5,000 square feet of shopping area with many one-of-a-kind finds.
The public is invited to a Christmas Open House on Saturday, Dec. 7. The store will be open late during the Christmas Parade.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
