Jean Lanell Mullins

Jean Lanell Mullins, age 85, a longtime resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 23, 2024, at her home in Comanche. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.
Jean was born Nov. 29, 1939 in Randolph, Kan., to James and Dorothy Harper. She grew up in Marysville, Kan. with her mother Dorothy and stepfather, Clifford LeMaster.
On March 15, 1955 she married Tommie Mullins. They traveled around the country with his work, eventually settling in Comanche. They had five children: Ricky Ann, Morris, Tommie John, Jackie, and Dorothy. Jean was a very godly woman and faithfully attended church at First Assembly of God in Beatrice, Neb. and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jean enjoyed setting up at flea markets, playing Bingo, and going to the casino. She raised five children and helped raise the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother to them all.
Survivors include one son, Morris Mullins and wife Jo, Wichita Falls, Texas; and two daughters: Dorothy Jeffery, Comanche,, Ricky Ann Gonzales, Cibolo, Texas, Jack’s wife, Lisa Mullins, Comanche; one brother, Larry Harper, Las Vegas, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by husband, Tommie Mullins; her father, James Harper; her mother, Dorothy Lemaster; stepfather, Clifford Lemaster; two sons: Thomas Mullins and Jack Mullins; two brothers: Jack Harper and Dale Harper; a great-grandson, Gabriel; and a nephew, Butch Harper.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Jeffery, Tommy Gonzales, Buddy Mullins, Shawn Mullins, Ricky Gonzales, Harley Mullins, Michael Mullins, Jeffrey Mullins, and honorary bearers J.R. Mullins, Justin Mullins, Travis Mullins, Daniel Mullins, Harry Mullins, Josh Mullins.
