Carol Janice Grubbs

Carol Janice Grubbs, of Comanche, passed from this life into her eternal Home on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024. She was 88 years old. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. at Countryside Baptist Church, with Kelly Pollock officiating.  Interment will be held at 2 p.m. at the Old Elgin Cemetery, in Elgin, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Carol was born May 9, 1936, in Elgin, to Oscar T. and Linnie Mae (Day) Sanders. On Feb. 5, 1954, she and Jimmy Grubbs were united in marriage, in Elgin.  Carol attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. where she received a Masters Degree in Education. She taught school for many years in Farmington, N.M.  After her retirement from teaching, she and Jimmy moved to Comanche to be closer to their family. Among her hobbies were reading, baking, sewing, and shopping. Carol loved Dillards clearance sales. She was very active in  OHCE Extension Club and Countryside Baptist Church. Carol loved her family and cherished spending time with them.
Survivors include one daughter, Jan Robison and husband, Bob, Comanche;  one brother, Tom Sanders and wife Rondi, Seminole, OK; two sisters: Betty Arnold and Pat Ambrose, both of Duncan; five grandchildren: Chris Babcock and wife Sari, Travis Babcock, Matt Babcock, Jaicee Combs and husband Rusty, and Jennifer Hamilton; numerous great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Grubbs; her parents, Oscar and Linnie Sanders,  one son, J.R. Grubbs; a grandson, Russell Grubbs;  and a granddaughter, Mary.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
