Comanche to honor successful teams of past decade beginning this Friday
January 30, 2025
The Comanche Athletic Department will be honoring the past successes of its teams over the next couple of years by celebrating and highlighting a few of the outstanding Comanche teams from the last decade.
“We will be honoring our 2020 state champion boys wrestling team, 2020 girls basketball team, and the back-to-back state tournament softball teams once all the athletes are done with their college playing careers,” said Sean Husheck, athletic director. “Plans are also in the works to celebrate our individual state champions from cross country, track, and wrestling.”
This Friday night, the members of the 2014-15 through the 2017-18 girls basketball teams will be honored at the home game against Bridge Creek.
“This group won an amazing 100 games during that stretch,” Hushbeck said. “They made three straight state tournament semifinals and finished state runner-up in 2017. We will honor those who are able to attend at halftime of the girls’ game. Please make plans to come out and honor a great group of ladies and coaches.”
Hushbeck said any players from the 2014-2018 basketball teams should check the Facebook group for details about Friday night.
A healthy Stephens County requires great community news.
