February 27, 2025

The Comanche basketball teams took losses, but are still alive in the postseason after falling on the road at Anadarko last Saturday.
Warriors 66
Indians 43
Comanche stayed with Class 3A No. 4 Anadarko (22-4) in the early going, trailing 16-11 at the end of the first quarter, but a 17-5 second quarter in favor of the Warriors put some distance between the two teams.
Led by a three-point barrage by Colby Shannon, the Indians would get their offense going in the third quarter, but Anadarko kept pace to take a 51-32 lead into the final quarter.
Shannon would knock down six three-pointers for the Indians in the loss on his way to a team-high 22 points. Jiovanni Demry was next with seven points, followed by Payton Jones, Cooper Epperson and Easton Bowen with four points each. Brycen Lassley added two points.
The Indians (5-18) will now face Atoka (1-22) in the consolation bracket at Anadarko today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m.
Lady Warriors 65
Lady Indians 29
Comanche trailed 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, but Class 3A No. 5 Anadarko (17-7) took control in the second, outscoring the Lady Indians 18-5 in the second to take a 29-15 halftime lead.
The Lady Warriors would then open the third on an 11-0 run to put the game out of reach.
Comanche kept fighting and came back to score 12 points in the quarter to trail, 49-27, but the Lady Warriors limited the Lady Indians to just two points in the final quarter and went on to claim the win.
Raelee Ellis had 13 points to lead Comanche. She was followed by Drai Sparks with eight, Jaylee Roebuck with seven and Jentry Whaley with one.
The Lady Indians had trouble stopping Anadarko’s Heaven Haywood, who scored 38 points in the contest.
Comanche (6-18) will take on Tishomingo (10-11) at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) in Anadarko in a consolation game.
