ANADARKO - The season came to an end for the Comanche Lady Indians as they fell to Tishomingo, 42-28, in a regional consolation game.
After trailing most of the first half, Comanche surged ahead in the third quarter, but could not keep the momentum going as Tishomingo rallied for the win.
Comanche could never get its offense warmed up. A three-pointer by Raelee Ellis in the third quarter was the only three-pointer made out of more than 10 attempts by the team in the game. Tishomingo had five made three-pointers in the game.
Comanche only made two field goals in the first half a putback by Drai Sparks to open the game and an old-fashioned three-point play by Ellis. Comanche, however, was able to stay close to Tishomingo with its defense and free-throw shooting. Tishomingo led 8-5 at the end of the first quarter and 18-12 at the half.
Comanche got a spark from an Ellis three-pointer to open the third quarter. It would be the start of an 11-0 run. The surge erased the halftime deficit and gave Comanche a six-point lead halfway through the third quarter.
Tishomingo, however, regrouped and outscored Comanche 12-0 the rest of the quarter to retake the lead at 28-23 going into the fourth quarter.
Comanche was never able to answer in the fourth quarter. They were limited to five points, all coming from Jaylee Roebuck. Her putback with 3:27 left cut the lead to 35-28, but those would be the last points of the game for Comanche as Tisholmingo pulled away for the win.
It would be the last game for Comanche seniors Jentry Whaley, Jillian Hushbeck and Caity Ramsey. The Lady Indians finished the season with a 6-19 overall record.
