Howard Dean 'Pete' Huckabaa

Howard Dean “Pete” Huckabaa, a resident of Duncan, OK, peacefully passed away on Friday morning, March 14, 2025 in Duncan. He was 89 years old. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd at 3:00 p.m. Due to storm damage at Parkview Baptist Church, the service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Pete was born June 2, 1935, in Wynnewood to Winston H. and Pauline (Chapman) Huckabaa. He and Dovie Marie Biffle were united in marriage on March 6, 1959. He was a truck driver until his retirement. After he retired he and Dovie moved from Houston back to Duncan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a workaholic, but always found time for his family with special outings to the beach, eating out, play time with his grandchildren, and occasionally making porch swings. He enjoyed playing dominoes, and watching football and wrestling, along with western shows, police dramas, and movies.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Pauline; his wife, Dovie; four siblings: Harold Huckabaa, Hollis Huckabaa, Junior Huckabaa, and Dovie Parker. and a grandson-in-law, Steven Jackson.
Survivors include his four children: Keith Huckabaa and wife Crystal, Duncan; Vicki Myrick and husband Clyde, Duncan; Brenda Webster and husband Dennis, Humble, Texas; and Donna Wright and husband Monte, Houston; one brother, Lloyd Huckabaa, Stratford; two sister-in-laws: LaRieta Huckabaa, Cushing, and Winnie Biffle, Duncan; 13 grandchildren: Jimmy Webster and wife Vanessa, Zach Webster, Ashley Jackson, Kevin Schiller and wife Jill, Cam Myrick and wife Stephanie, Teri Myrick and husband Daniel, Shannon Tanner and husband Michael, Amy Stewart and husband Curtis, Brittany Wright, Audrey Wright, Caitlyn Huckabaa, Bryan Huckabaa, and Mason Huckabaa; twelve great grandchildren: Aaron Webster, Stephen Webster, Brent Webster, Brianna Webster, Nicole Webster, Jace Jackson, Andrew Brown, Cam Myrick III, Ethan Malpass, Karmah Tanner, Dominic Tanner and Donte Stewart; his great-great grandchildren: Holden Webster and Brenly Webster, Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
