Comanche Spring Fest this Saturday

The inaugural Comanche Spring Fest sponsored by the Comanche Chamber of Commerce will be held this Saturday.
“Spring Fest is going to be a reflection of Fall Fest, so it’s going to give us an additional event in Comanche,” said Laura Lewis, chamber president. “The Spring Fest is going to be for the chamber, so it’s going to be like a fundraiser for community events. Everything that goes on at the Spring Fest side is going to help with fireworks or whatever else we do in the community.”
Fall Fest was cancelled due to inclement weather, so Spring Fest picked up the Noah Presgrove Memorial Car Show that was originally going to be held at Fall Fest. Proceeds from it will benefit the Noah Presgrove Scholarship Fund.
“I’m hoping this is our first annual Spring Fest because I want to do it every year because we don’t do anything in the spring,” Lewis said.
Spring Fest will be an afternoon and evening event. It allowed organizers to get live music lined up for the event.
“I know there have been people in the past talk about street dances and stuff, so we’re going to get our toes wet to how it would do with music downtown,” Lewis said.
There are more than 20 booths and vendors lined up for the event.
“There will be a lot of stuff for sale and we do offer our school-related booster clubs to set up for free to promote their booster clubs,” Lewis said.
They have received at least three commitments from food trucks plus snow cone trucks and funnel cakes.
“We will have several different kinds of booths,” Lewis said. “I know the Army is coming, we have a realtor coming to talk to people about what she does. There’s going to be a lot of tables that are going to be informational. Christian Helping Hands is going to have a table in partnership with the Hope Center and they are going to do kid crafts.
