Ronald Gene 'Buddy' Bowles

Ronald Gene "Buddy" Bowles of Duncan.  Buddy was  77 years of age and passed away peacefully surrounded by 21 friends and family members.
Buddy was born in Comanche on Sept. 12, 1947 the son of Gene and Roberta (Park) Bowles.
Buddy graduated from Comanche High School in 1965 then went on to Oklahoma State University.  While attending his first year in college he joined the Navy to fight for his country.  Buddy was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1970.  Upon returning from the Navy we went to work for Mack Oil.  He later started his 25yr  long career with Halliburton. 
Ronald Gene Bowles married Gloria Kathaleen  Pemberton on March 11, 1967 in Comanche, Oklahoma officiated by clergy.  They were married 58 years. Children include Darrell and  his wife Wendi Bowles of Duncan, Dayna Bowles of Oklahoma City, Donna and her husband Curtis Suson of Duncan.  A sister, Jenene Martin of Mustang. Grandchildren Laken and husband Tyler of Oklahoma City,  Madison and her husband Dylan Mettler of Duncan and Caden Bowles of Duncan; great-grandchildren Lucca, Lennie, Liv and Maverick. 
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Roberta Bowles, and niece Haley Williams-Carson.
Buddy was very patriotic. He loved God and country. Buddy was a faithful member of Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church in Duncan. Buddy loved spending time at the beach with his family.  He was known for his sand art/sculptures. He spent many vacations camping at lake Texahoma and the Illinois River. He loved having cookouts with the family at the Wichita Mountains. Buddy was known mostly for his clever  and funny sayings. 
Some of his hobbies were collecting marbles, woodworking, fishing and horseshoe art. Buddy was also known for his creativity. He came up with his own little inventions to solve almost any problem.  We called his inventions “Buddy Tech”.
He loved his horse named Dayna Dayna.  Dayna Dayna loved him and barely tolerated others.  He loved his faithful dog Digger. Buddy was a lover of all of God’s creatures. 
His greatest joy in life was spending time with family.  He specially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great  grandchildren. 
A celebration of life will be held on July 26, 2025 at 1 p.m. at The Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church  278935 E 1780 RD (Terry Rd) Comanche with Pastor Lance Smith officiating.
