Residents asked to conserve water
September 09, 2025

A broken water line from Waurika to Comanche has led city officials to ask residents to conserve water. Until the repair can be made, the water line from Waurika Lake has been cut off. The city will now get its water from Comanche Lake. City clerk Cheryl Johnson said it takes four times longer for the city to process the water from Comanche Lake than it does Waurika Lake water, so they are asking residents not to use water excessively. The request is voluntary and not mandatory.
The line to Waurika is expected to be repaired by the end of the week.
