Comanche FFA officersatend COLT Conference in Norman

Officers from the Comanche FFA chapter attended the Oklahoma FFA Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) Conference on Sept. 5 at the Embassy Suites in Norman. The conference brought together elected officers from 68 high school FFA chapters in the Central area.
This year’s conference, themed “On Target: Take Aim,” was planned and conducted by the eight state FFA officers. 
The training emphasized anticipatory leadership, urging officers to be proactive in their roles by preparing and planning ahead.
The keynote speaker was Kelly Barnes, a former state FFA president and current executive director of Tulakogee, a youth camp operated by the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association.
“It’s truly an honor to play a role in officer development through COLT Conference,” said Cooper Kline, State FFA President. “This facilitation will play a major role in equipping officers with the crucial skills needed to overcome adversity during their year of service.”
Interactive workshops at the conference focused on contingency planning and achieving success at chapter-level events.
The Comanche FFA officers who attended were:

n Braxton Fenton, Sentinel
Advisers James and Shelbi Morgan accompanied the students.
The COLT Conference is sponsored by Public Service Company of Oklahoma as a special project of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation. Oklahoma FFA is a division of the Oklahoma Department of CareerTech Education, with 29,507 members in 370 high schools across the state.
