REX CAMPBELL REX CAMPBELL

Rex Charles Campbell, 72, lived a life marked by magic and music. He entered the world singing on November 18, 1953, and left us on October 8, 2026, disappearing from our sight, but never from our hearts. Known as “Paw” or “Pops” to those who loved him, Rex leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will continue to bring joy to those who knew him.
Rex was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 magical years, Sheryl Campbell; his parents, Charles and Eilean Campbell; his granddaughter, Rachel Faulks; and his son-in-law and fellow musician, Patrick Jackson.

He is survived by his siblings Sandra Bray of Walters, Oklahoma; Rose Michael (Aubrey) of Burkburnett, Texas; Evelyn Rorabaw (Mark) of Cookietown, Oklahoma; Thomas Campbell of Burkburnett, Texas; and his Uncle Bud Campbell of Wyoming.

Rex is also survived by his children: Mindy Campbell; Christina Faulks (Larry) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jennifer Harper of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Milo Shane Campbell (Tara) of Duncan, Oklahoma. Pops poured his love into his children and into his 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and the many nieces and nephews who were fortunate enough to spend time with him. Truly, his life was blessed with love.

Rex attended school in Walters, Oklahoma, before serving proudly in the United States Navy. A lifelong lover of music, he thrilled at gathering friends and family together for jam sessions. Alongside Patrick Jackson, Tom Johnson, and his beloved bride Sheryl on the drums, Rex played bass in the band Country Legacy, filling the air with the sounds of Southern country music.

When he wasn’t playing music or amazing his grandchildren with magic tricks, Rex could be found working with his hands or creating beauty as a master carpenter. Whether through a song, a magic trick, or something he built, Rex had a way of bringing people together and leaving them with something to remember.

A potluck celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17 at 1:00 pm at the place he lived and loved: 178250 Oak Grove Street, Comanche, Oklahoma. Family and friends are invited to gather, share a meal, tell stories, and celebrate a life filled with magic, music, and love.
