Baseball season ends at Hugo

The Comanche baseball team’s season ended at Hugo in a bi-district match-up last week. The Indians fell in two close games by 10-9 and 5-4 scores to end their season with a 6-19 record.

In game one, Comanche held a 8-3 lead going into the bottom of the sixth when the Buffaloes exploded for seven runs to take the lead for good.

Comanche had taken a 3-2 lead in the third on an RBI double by Bryson Evans, and a two-RBI single by Owen Bigford.

The Indians then extended their lead in the top of the fourth to 6-3 including an RBI single by Evans and an RBI single by Myles Ellis.

In the top of the sixth, Comanche added two more runs in the top of the sixth on a passed ball and an RBI groundout by Myles Ellis.

After falling behind 10-8, Comanche added another run in the final inning as Wyatt Martin scored on a groundout after doubling earlier in the inning.

Evans went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and 2 RBI to lead the Indians. Myles Ellis and Owen Bigford were both 1-for-4 with two RBI. Wyatt Martin was 1-for-4. Dillon Ellis also had an RBI in the game and Lucas Gordon scored twice for the Indians.

In game two, both teams scored two runs in the first inning, but Hugo added one run each in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 5-2 lead. Comanche, which had just three hits in the game, made a comeback bid in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs, but it would not be enough.

Dillon Ellis went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Comanche. Evans was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
