Shanan Dean O'Neal Johnson

Shanan Dean O’Neal Johnson was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Dallas, TX. She was 50 years old. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 10:30 a.m. at the Ray Of Hope Church, with Pastor Mike McCord officiating, assisted by Ronnie Bernard. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be Sunday, 12:00-3:00 and Monday 9:00-6:00.
Shanon was born January 4, 1971 in Duncan, OK to Gary and Karen (Cofer) O’Neal. She was a graduate of Duncan High School . She was a proud alum of Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa. She and Gary Johnson were united in marriage on September 9, 1989 at the Ray Of Hope Church in Comanche. They made their home in several cities, including Duncan, Norman, Tulsa, and Fort Worth. She was a member of the Fort Worth CASA, and also Fort Worth Mom’s Blog. She was very artistic and she loved crafting. Shanan also enjoyed traveling, and she was very active in church. She was an author, and avid photographer. She was a people person, and loved helping people. This included mission trips to Haiti, and also helping with disaster relief for the OKC bombing, and Hurricane Katrina. More than anything she was a great Mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Shanan is survived by her husband Gary, of the home; three children: Josiah Johnson, Jordan Johnson, and Chrissy Johnson, all of the home; her parents, Gary and Karen O’Neal, Duncan, OK; two sisters: Stacie Crowson and husband Tadd, Comanche, OK, and Allison Eddy and husband Darren, Inola, OK; a brother in law Daniel Johnson, Carrollton, GA; her grandmother Kathryn “Midge” O’Neal, Duncan, OK; five nieces: Zana Crowson, Zoie Crowson, McKenzie Johnson, Haley Eddy, and Ava Eddy; two nephews: Eli Eddy and Eyn Eddy; friends who Shanan considered family, B.J. and Vera Yeager, and their children Kelsey and Brandon, Fremont, NE; two special daughters, Rebecca Cunningham and Raquel Hutchins, who lived with the Johnson Family as foreign exchange students; aunts and uncles, and several cousins, and countless dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents:, J.T. and Eva Mae Cofer, and Carl O’Neal; and her parents in law, Gary and Ana Johnson.
