County Election Board Office moving to new location

November 03, 2021

Angela Dunagan, Secretary of the Stephens County Election Board, announced Tuesday that the Election Board Office will be moving to its new location at 1075 West Elm Avenue on Monday, November 8. It is located just one block south of the Stephens County Courthouse on the corner of 11th Street and Elm Avenue.

In the fall of 2020, the County purchased the building, which was previously occupied by the Duncan Banner, and renovated part of the space for the Election Board office. “I am so excited to let the public know about our new office! We will have a lot more room to be able to take care of all of our voters’ needs, including early voting.”, Dunagan said.

One of the benefits of the new location is a large area designed specifically for holding early voting before each election, which will help reduce traffic at the courthouse during those times. Along with the voting area, the new space consists of offices, a conference/training room, storage areas and a dedicated parking lot. Future plans also consist of a covered sidewalk to protect voters from the elements during larger elections with longer lines.

Stephens County will not have another election until 2022. Candidate filing for school boards and city council for the City of Marlow will take place December 6-8 and will determine which areas of the county may have an election in February.

The Election Board office is currently located in the Stephens County Courthouse at 101 South 11th Street, Suite 100. Staff will be at both locations until the move is complete for any voter or candidate needs.
