Allen Gene Wooten

Allen Gene Wooten, age 68, a longtime Comanche resident, passed away on Saturday morning, November 27, 2021 at Duncan Regional Hospital, following a brief illness.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Comanche First Baptist Church, with Dr. Mark Hall officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.  Viewing will be Monday 12:00-5:00, and Tuesday 9:00-11:00.

Allen was born January 9, 1953 in Duncan, OK to Charles Allen and Patty ( Ridley) Wooten.  He was a graduate of Bray High School. He was a very talented musician who owned the Cowboy Opry in Comanche.  He was a member of the Country Music Association, the Comanche Chamber of Commerce, and also the Comanche First Baptist Church.

Allen is survived by his wife Sue, of the home; two sons: Kris Hinsley and wife Jana, Comanche, OK ; Bubba Hinsley and wife Jennifer, Comanche, OK ; and Valerie Bell and Chris Bumpas, Duncan, OK; his step-mother, Bertie Wooten, Duncan, OK;  his nephews Shy Bandy and wife Tanna, Velma, OK; and their children Memphis Smith and Kye Bandy; Billy Bandy and Haley Turner, Bray, OK; and their child, Stetson Bandy; his brothers: Bobby Wooten, Comanche, OK: Paul Mendingall and wife Tammy, Marlow, OK; Alan Mendinhall and wife Deena, Ardmore, OK;  a brother in law, Keith Bandy, Comanche, OK; three very special cousins: James Wooten and wife Patty, Duncan, OK; Jimmy Bruner, Duncan, OK; and Louis Darity and wife Ellen, Marlow, OK;  and his grandchildren: Landry Hinsley, Blayn Hinsley, Mason Hinsley, Jordyn Campbell and Shalee Presgrove, all of Comanche, OK: and Mattie Galloway and Allie Galloway, Arlington, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kris Hinsley, Bubba Hinsley, Shy Bandy, Billy Bandy,  Blayn Hinsley James Wooten, Jordyn Campbell, and Gaylon Blankenship.
