Red Plains Grand Butchery to break ground Friday

March 03, 2022

The countdown has started for the Red Plains Grand Butchery plant to officially break ground. The plant will be at 1200 Texas Ave., Comanche, which is west of town on Hwy 53. The ceremony will be held Friday, March 4, at 2 p.m.

Red Plains Grand Butchery owner/entrepreneur, Trey Clinkenbeard, shared the purpose for starting the new business.

“My vision for Red Plains Grand Butchery is to be the leading meat processing enterprise in the Red Plains region of Oklahoma. Our mission is to create a resource which enriches our community, serves agriculture, and improves people’s lives,” Clinkenbeard said. “We will do this by focusing on being a valued and trusted corporate partner who aims to exceed the expectations of those we serve.”

The lot at 1200 Texas Avenue was previously owned by the City of Comanche.

“(It) is the perfect location for the business,” Clinkenbeard said. “Bringing people to Comanche to shop, eat, and patronize our business in our community is important.”

Official construction of the plant will begin the spring of 2022. Plans are to be operational in late fall of 2022. Red Plains Grand Butchery will employ 8-12 people at start up and add more employees as quickly as possible to reach full operational capacity.
The plant will harvest both hogs and cattle for area producers to have for their family or to sell to their customers.
In addition to harvesting hogs and cattle, Red Plains Grand Butchery will have the capability to do further processed, smoked, and cured meat products which is a value-added service for both private label and customers’ benefit as well.

The plant has been specifically designed for state-of-the-art functionality and efficiency, while being esthetically pleasing to the neighborhood.

Moreover, the plant will be equipped with the newest data collection, tracking, and processing technology to assure the highest level of customer service and trust.
Clinkenbeard and the team of people who have worked for over two years to bring this project to life, want to extend an invitation to anyone who wants to come attend the official groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate this milestone for the community.
More details and updates will be provided throughout the construction of the new Red Plains Grand Butchery plant.
