Old hotel is getting new look

The City of Comanche was awarded the Fresh Paint Days Grant for the fourth year in a row. This year they received 130 gallons of paint to help rejuvenate the old Comanche Motel, which will be the site of a future flea market.

The Fresh Paint program is one of the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful initiatives to help beautify and restore the great state of Oklahoma “one gallon at a time.”

The recycled paint is donated every year by HIS Paints out of Oklahoma City. The city also received a cash stipend to offset the cost of painting materials.

The completed projects each year are entered into a judging contest where the public picks the projects that had the most impact.

The winners of the judging are eligible to receive additional cash awards.
