Cross country opens season in Duncan

The Comanche cross country team got its season underway last Saturday at a meet at Duncan. The Lady Indians came away with a third place finish as a team, while the boys finished fifth.

In girls’ competition, Comanche finished with 74 points, led by a fourth-place performance by sophomore Brilee Combs with a time of 13:30.20 over the two-mile course. Comanche had three other runners finish in the top 20. Sophomore Karsynn Bowles finished 12th overall with a time of 15:13.90 and freshman Ava Foraker finished with a time of 16:00.56 in 18th place.

Sophomore Cheyenne Hodges finished 24th with a time of 16:00.56 and senior Sarai Alvarez rounded out Comanche scoring with a 30th place finish and a time of 17:31.39. Freshman Kilee Frye finished 41st with a time of 20:17.79.

On the boys’ side, sophomore Brycen Lassley led Comanche with a 15th place finish with a time of 19:15.43 over the 5K course. Senior Noah Presgrove was next in 28th place with a time of 20:56.31.

Third for Comanche was senior Jaxson Billingsley, who finished with a time of 21:57:59 in 35th place and junior Hunter Lassley finished 41st with a time of 23:39.02.

Next for Comanche was sophomore Gage Jessen, who finished 63rd with a time of 28:24.68. He was followed by David Tidwell in 68th place with a time of 33:54.15.

In junior high competition, the Jr. Lady Indians took sixth as a team. Raelee Ellis led Comanche in 12th place with a time of 12:49.38 over the 1.5-mile course. Brailey Presgrove was second on the team in 42nd place with a time of 15:22.25. Brentley Green followed close behind in 45th place with a time of 15:55.25.

Stormy Troutman finished 51st with a time of 16:31.31, while Emma Milburn, Keeley Peacock and Karlye Anderson finished 57, 58 and 59, respectively. Millburn had a time of 16:51.02, Peacock had a time of 16:55.13 and Karlye Anderson had a time of 16:56.53.

In the junior high boys’ two-mile run, Comanche placed fifth.

The Jr. Indians had two finishes in the top 13, including Aiden Frye in fifth place with a time of 13:03. Makisig Rogers took 13th with a time of 13:45.16. Kaiden Davoult was next in 34th place with a time of 15:36.05. Donovan Rosero Patino was 58th with a time of 18:24.39, Hickory Anderson was 66th with a time of 18:54.82.

Rhett Wilson was 69th with a time of 20:10.66 and Brenton Chisum was 77th with a time of 22:01.61.
