Patti Harper

Patti Lee (Gilbert) Harper, of Duncan, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City wither her family by her side. She was 69.

She was born to Charles Wesley Gilbert II and Mae (Branch) Gilbert on March 12, 1953 in Albuquerque, N.M. She had attended Loco Public Schools through her sophomore year when that school closed. She then went to and graduated from Comanche High School in 1971.

She married Mike Harper on June 29, 2013, at the Duncan Golf and Country Club in Duncan. Patti was a member of the Baptist church. She was a snappy dresser and a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Patti loved taking cruises and traveling. She really loved to decorate for the holidays and not just one holiday but all the holidays. She enjoyed dinner with friends and monthly lunches with CHS '70-''71 girls. She spent many days riding in a golf cart with Mike, watching friends and family play golf tournaments while handing out homemade cookies.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles "Chucky" Gilbert.

Patti is survived by her husband, Mike Harper, and the father of her children, Joe Bud Johnston of Oklahoma City; two children, John Charles "J.C." and wife Brandy Johnston of Oklahoma City; and Kelly Marie Figueroa and husband Roger of Edmond: bonus children, Tara Harper and fiance' Samuel Mitchell of Duncan, Dixon Harper and wife Jacobi of Duncan, Stuart Harper of Comanche; five grandchildren, Luciana Figueroa, Charles Figueroa, John Figueroa, Constance Curren and Marrah Curren; bonus grandchildren, Hannah Harper, Blayden Harper, Isaac Harper and Wells Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Leonel Gramajo and Angel Gramajo.

Patti is also survived by one sister, Kelly Hibblen and husband Greg of Duncan; three brothers, Ralph Gilbert and wife Carmen of Wyoming, Roger Gilbert and wife Kim of Austin, Texas, Joe Gilbert and wife Kerry of Broken Arrow; sister, and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

A "Celebration of Patti's Life," is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the parlor at New Hope Baptist Church in Duncan.
