Margie Elizabeth Ball-Solomon

Margie Elizabeth Ball-Solomon, of Duncan, was born Jan. 21, 1959 in Waurika to Albert Leroy and Ruby Lou (Berry) Wilkerson. She passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, in Oklahoma City.

The family will greet visitors on Friday, Feb. 3, between 5 - 7 p.m. at Whitt Funeral Home. Services are planned for Saturday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. at Ray of Hope Church with Pastor Matt Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Margie received her Bachelor's degree in Accounting at Cameron in 1981. She began working for Steve Sledge at Sledge Insurance and Real Estate in 1981. In 1984 she began working for Bartling Insurance, where she became a partner in 2010 followed by sole ownership in 2012. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Margie was always working and loved every minute of it.

She married Joe Lynn Solomon and they enjoyed life together. She gained a bonus son, David Solomon. Margie and Joe shared their fur baby, Maggie Mae, whom she loved dearly. She loved her husband and family dearly. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great nieces whom she loved immensely. She was always serving as the family counselor. She also had an extended family - her customers – and she was very involved with them. People knew what was on Margie's mind because she was straightforward and honest with everyone. She enjoyed reading and watching the Waurika Eagles play ball. Margie was a patriotic person.

Margie was one of a kind. There was no one else like her. She was eccentric and over the top in every aspect. She was caring, loving and a kind friend to everyone. She never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Leroy Wilkerson; and sisters, Linda Faye Prewitt and Shirley Ann Wheeler.

Margie is survived by her husband, Joe, and son, David; mother, Ruby Lou Wilkerson; aunt, Ann Thomas; brothers: Albert Gene Wilkerson, Jerry Wayne Wilkerson and wife Donna, Roger Dale Wilkerson, Michael Lynn Wilkerson and wife Sherri; sister, Patty Sue Bryant; brother-in-law, William H. Prewitt; and many nieces and nephews.
