Linda Gail Loftin

Linda Gail Loftin, a resident of Comanche, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 at her home. She was 80 years old. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19t at 2 p.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with her son, Bobby Loftin officiating, assisted by Wade Peyton. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Linda was born October 5, 1943 in Sulphur Springs, TX to James D and Miriam Isabelle (Sansing) Mitchell. She and Asa Loftin were united in marriage on October 17, 1962 in Sulphur Springs. Linda and Asa moved to Comanche in 2004, coming from Salida, CO. She loved to sing, write poetry, painting, and nature. Linda saw the beauty in everything and she could make others see the beauty as well. She also enjoyed making tea cakes with her grandchildren. Linda looked forward to watching her son preach, via Facebook. She also sent daily scriptures to her family and friends.

Survivors include her children; Bobby Loftin and wife Renee, Fritch, TX, Billy Loftin and wife Melissa Loftin, Eagan, MN, and Ruth Ann Loftin, Comanche, OK; seven grandchildren: Nancy Garcia, Clarissa Jennings, Shay Loftin, Cyra Loftin, Meredith Loftin, Dakota Loftin, and Charity Loftin; also her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, James Mitchell, and wife Kathy, Sulphur Springs, TX; and a sister, Helen Addie, Ida, LA; and many other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Asa Loftin, and a son, David Loftin.
