Vickie Mitchell Rone

Vickie Mitchell Rone, of Healdton, passed away on Sturday, April 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 76.

In accordance with her wishes, there are no services planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Laurel Funeral Home.

Vickie was born to C.E. (Mitch) Mitchell and Lois Simonton Mitchell on June 3, 1947 in Drumright. Vickie attended school at Meridian Grade School and Comanche High School and Cameron University.

She married Floyd Rone on July 14, 1967 at the Methodist Church in Comanche. Floyd was in the Army so they lived in many different places, including Germany. They settled in Woodward for many years, where their children graduated from Woodward High School. Vickie worked at the Woodward hospital for many years in the pharmacy until her Rheumatoid Arthritis prevented her working.

They moved the family to Healdton to be closer to family. Vickie loved to embroidery and read. She also followed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to every sporting event or school event as long as she was physically able.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Alma Haws and brother-in-law, Joe Bob Haws, and many other relatives.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Floyd, of the home; two children, Vanessa Tidrick and husband David of Healdton; Timothy Rone and wife Jamie of Duncan; seven grandchildren: Heather Brittain and husband Kenny Walker of Healdton; Travis Brittain and wife Annissia of Healdton; Natalie, Dillon, Chloe, Conner and Avonlea Rone, all of Duncan; great-grandchildren: Bella, Warren, Tuff and Oakley Walker, Lillian Brown, Anna Brown, Jason Brown, Legion and Haylo Brittain, all of Healdton. One brother, Alan and wife Janie of Duncan; one sister Marsha Mitchell Williams and husband Mike of Wilson; special nephew, Darrell Brenson of Dickson; special niece and nephews: Erika Mitchell DeLuca, Tyler Michael and Mike DeLuca all of Norman; and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of Vickie’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
