Sharon (Hendrix) Bowden

Sharon Irlyn Hendrix Bowden, a lifelong resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away at her home east of Comanche, on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at the age of 84. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kevin McKinley officiating, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home.

Sharon was born Sept. 28, 1939 in Comanche to Irlan and Opal (Baird) Hendrix. She and Jim Bowden were united in marriage on Nov. 18, 1982. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. Sharon loved painting, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and collecting dolls. She was a beautician for many years. She loved her family dearly, and loved getting to spend time with them.

Survivors include her son, Nicky Ray Martin, Comanche; Angie Zumwalt and husband Johnny, Comanche; her siblings: Joe Hendrix and wife Beverly, Burneyville; Lynn Hendrix and wife Cindy, Comanche; and Katherine Franklin and husband Jack, Comanche; two grandchildren: Brayden Bailey and Keely, Comanche; and Bethany Mullins and Jeff, Comanche; a great-grandson, Stetson Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and dear friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bowden; her parents, Irlan and Opal (Baird) Hendrix; her siblings: Charles Hendrix, Ronnie Hendrix. And two infant brothers, Larue Dean Hendrix, and Johnny Lee Hendrix.
