Softball regular season coming to a close

The regular season is winding down for the Comanche softball team. The Lady Indians completed a busy week with two district games sandwiching a tournament in Durant last Friday and Saturday.
Comanche played Walters on Tuesday and will play in the Duncan Pink Out game on Thursday. The Lady Indians will close out the regular season by hosting Marlow next Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Senior Night.
Sept. 12
Lone Grove 11
Comanche 0
Lone Grove jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and then put the game away in the sixth inning with six runs.
Comanche was limited to two hits in the game with Caity Ramsey and Cassidy Smith each picking up a hit.
Jentry Whaley was the losing pitcher, throwing two innings and giving up six earned runs on eight hits. She struck out one and walked one.
Sept. 13
Broken Bow 6
Comanche 0
Broken Bow scored one run in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth to get the win.
Jaylee Roebuck, Jentry Whaley, Cianna O’Connor, Caity Ramsey, Cloey Kinkade each picked up a hit for the Lady Indians.
Kinkade was the losing pitcher, giving up four earned runs on seven hits. She struck out four and walked two.
Wilburton 4
Comanche 3
Wilburton scored two runs in the top of the sixth to retake the lead and get the win.
The game was scoreless through the first four innings.
Wilburton scored two runs in the top of the fifth, but the Lady Indians fought back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead for the first time.
Jaylee Roebuck, Raelee Ellis and Caity Ramsey each drove in a run in the fifth inning. Ellis and Ramsey both went 2-for-3 to lead the team on offense with Roebuck picking up a triple.
Roebuck, Cianna O’Connor and Lexi Feldman had one hit each.
Jentry Whaley took the loss. She gave up six hits and three earned runs. She struck out eight and walked one.
Sept. 14
Valliant 9
Comanche 1
Valliant scored a run in the bottom of the first and built an 8-0 lead before Comanche got on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the fifth.
Comanche was limited to three hits with Raelee Ellis, Cianna O’Connor and Cloey Kinkade picking up a one each. O’Connor had a triple.
Jentry Whaley was the losing pitcher, giving up two earned runs on four hits. She struck out one and walked none.
Durant 9
Comanche 5
Durant dropped out to a 9-0 lead after the first three innings and then held off a Comanche comeback attempt to get the win.
The Lady Indians scored five runs in the top of the fourth to cut into the lead, but could get no closer.
Comanche had five hits in the game, three of which were doubles by Caity Ramsey, Jaylee Roebuck and Cassidy Smith. Katelynn Cole and Cloey Kinkade each had a hit and an RBI.
Lexi Feldman took the loss on the mound, giving up 10 hits and four earned runs. She struck out two and walked none.
Wilson 4
Comanche 0
Raelee Ellis picked up Comanche’s only hit in the game as Wilson took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first and then added two more along the way.
Cloey Kinkade was the losing pitcher, giving up three earned runs on six hits. She struck out four and walked one.
Sept. 16
Kingston 5
Comanche 1
In their last district game of the regular season, the Lady Indians couldn’t overcome a four-run first inning by the Lady Redskins.
Cloey Kinkade drove in Cassidy Smith in the top of the fourth inning for Comanche’s only run.
Kinkade and Jentry Whaley both picked up two hits to lead the Lady Indians at the plate. Jaylee Roebuck also had a hit, a double.
Kinkade was the losing pitcher, giving up two earned runs on six hits. She struck out four and walked two.
